If a financial donation is not possible for you at this time, please help by joining the national bone marrow registry. Anyone between the ages of 18-60 who meets the health requirements can register as a potential donor. Because a small (painless!) blood sample is needed, potential donors must be tested at a donor center. For a complete list of donor centers, please visit www.marrow.org. By becoming a part of the bone marrow registry you may be able to save the life of one of the 35,000 children and adults who require a transplant each year.	If you are having a baby in the near future, please consider donating your child's umbilical cord blood. Umbilical cord blood, which is usually thrown away after birth, is another source of blood cells for individuals with life-threatening diseases. Donating umbilical cord blood is medically safe and does not change the birth process. Please consider this important contribution.
